Some examples:
>rømmegrøt: sour cream porridge served with a knob of butter in the center, cinnamon and sugar, and often cured meats
>risgrøt: rice and milk porridge served with a knob of butter in the center, cinnamon and sugar, and often cured meats
>pannekaker: similar to french crepes, but a little different. I usually just add sugar and roll them up, and often eat with bacon or some other salty meats, cured meats etc
>kjøttkaker i brun saus: basically the same as swedish meatballs just bigger, served like swedish meatballs, usually mashed or boiled potatoes, peas and lingonberry jam. Quite close to salisbury steak
>fiskesuppe: norwegian fish soup, usually has salmon, cod, shrimp and or mussles, served in a creamy savoury sauce, quite similar to chowder in the US
>laks med sandefjordsmør: salmon with a norwegian sauce called sandefjordsmør, its is a buttery parsely sauce, similar to hollandaise or bernaise, but a bit different, goes incredibly well with salmon.
>reinsdyrskav gryte: reindeer stew, thinly sliced reindeer meat in a brown stew with mushrooms and often served with lingonberries, quite similar to stroganoff or other hunter stews just with reindeer. We often add brown cheese as well to the stew, it melts into the sauce completely and gives it a richer flavor in a unique way
>vaffler med brunost: norwegians waffles are thinner than american and belgian waffles, often served with norwegian brown cheese, jam, and or sour cream
>ribbe: just a big pork belly roasted in the oven with crispy skin, served on christmas among other things
>pinnekjøtt: salted and cured lamb ribs that are then steamed, usually served on christmas as well
>loff og reker: fresh peeled shrimp served on a very white fine slice of bread with mayonaise, lemon and dill
>gravlaks: raw salmon marinated in sugar, salt and dill

I think all of these dishes would be palatable and fine for most people in the world, there is nothing absurd like lutefisk or boiled sheepshead.
