Eh, I left out the "for". I meant:
Did you have to saw the cuts for wedges?
The top of the handle typically has to be sawed in for the wooden wedge. Then the steel ones are hammered in without a cut, but I've seen someone sawing the handle for those too.
What I was asking if the handle came with the cut/cuts pre-sawed.
