The tension reminds me of those nightmares featuring Carnage that I used to have as a kid. Except there was nobody to protect me in those nightmares, and there was no sibling or anyone else beyond the monster and me. Maybe that was the point. That's one of the rules of complex PTSD, there can't have been a rescuer, not even a potential one. That seems to be important to the mind
